Morton's Brett Bisping (13) scored a team leading 31 points in the Potters 58-51 Class 3A Sectional Final victory over the Washington Panthers in Decatur, Illinois.  Bisping was 19 of 20 from the free-throw line. Beau Swinford (11) and Will Headean (5) had 11 points each for the Potters. Mark Roth (30) led the Panther's scoring with 20 points.  At the end of the third quarter, the score was tied at 37.  Morton put up 21 points to Washington's 14 to seal the win and move the Potters on to the Super Sectional facing Centralia on March 15th in Springfield. Centralia prevailed in the Super Sectional 48-44, closing out the Potter's season with a 25-9 record.

The Morton Potters clinched the Mid-Illini Conference title Friday night with a 65-45 win over the host East Peoria Raiders at Allison Gym.  Leading 41-37 at the end of the third period, the Potters put up 24 points in the fourth and cruised to the title.  Will Headean (5), shown pulling down a rebound in the above left photo, led Morton’s scoring with 17 points.  With 16 points was the Potter’s Tyler Lundeen (25), shown in the above right photo.   Corey Crotz led the Raider’s scoring with 15 points.  In the center photo above is East Peoria’s Charlie Zimmerman (22) battling Morton’s Brett Bisping (13) for a loose ball.  Morton ended the regular season with a 12-2 conference record and 20-7 overall and will play in the Lincoln Regional Monday.  East Peoria ended up with a 5-9 record in the conference and 7-17 overall and will play in the Manual Regional on Monday.

East Peoria Raiders Vs. Pekin Dragons

Joe Kelch (30), above, driving the lane in the third quarter, hit three treys and scored 13 in the Raider's 53-50 loss to the Pekin Dragons in East Peoria Friday night.  Tom Lohmann led the Dragon's scoring with 16, 8 rebs and 3 blocks. The win moved Pekin to 3-3 in the Mid-Illini Conference and 6-10 overall.

Pekin's Nathan Taphorn (34), is fouled in the above photo by East Peoria's Dylan Sparkman (54) in second quarter action.  Sparkman led the Raiders scoring with 16, including 8 rebounds.

Washington Panthers Vs. Limestone Rockets

The Washington Panthers hosted the Limestone Rockets Friday night and served up 19 unanswered points until the Rockets' Stephon Johnson (15) made a layup 29 seconds into the second quarter.  The Panthers 62-29 win gave them a 4-1 Mid-Illini Conference record (7-6 overall).

Panther Ben Ryan (32), above, guards Donivine Stewart (32) in second quarter action. Mark Roth (30), in the left photo had four threes for a total of 12 for Washington.  Stewart led the Rockets scoring with 17 after missing the last game with an injury.

Ryan, above, scored 12 points in the Panthers' victory.  The Metamora Redbirds will visit the Panthers next Tuesday and Limestone with hose the Dunlap Eagles on Friday, both in Mid-Illini Conference contests.

Washington's Dalton Wagler (34), above, drives around Morton's Jared Holloman (41) on his way to a team leading 21 points in the Panthers' 68-42 Mid-Illini Conference win over the Potters in Washington Friday night.  The Panthers are 4-4 overall and 3-1 in the Mid-Illini.

Ben Ryan (32), holding the ball, grabs a loose ball in first quarter action.  The Potters' defense kept Ryan from scoring in the game but allowed three other Panthers (Roth, Wagler & Weston) score in double figures.   Mark Roth had five threes in his 19 points along with Ben Weston's 12 points.  Next up for the Panthers is Richwoods in the Pekin Holiday Tournament.

Morton's Dalton White (15), above, shoots over Washington's Ben Ryan (32) in first quarter action.  White led the Potters with eight points.  Morton (8-3, 3-1), as the #1 seed, will face LaSalle-Peru in the Pekin Holiday Tournament on December 27th in Pekin.
